GENERAL MANAGER
PURCHASING SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

At Miramare Hotels, the companies from which we procure raw materials and other goods are controlled and evaluated by the purchasing commission. The responsibilities of our suppliers are clearly defined in the contracts. All our suppliers must fully comply with legal and regulatory requirements. We encourage all our suppliers to grow in harmony with us, create awareness, and minimize environmental damage within the scope of our Quality Management System and Sustainable Tourism. A supplier's certification under the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System is preferred when selecting suppliers.

When selecting materials, the impact on the environment and energy efficiency of fuels, chemicals, pesticides, all types of fossil fuel-consuming vehicles and equipment, electrical tools, tools containing refrigerants, noisy equipment, consumables, plastics, and construction materials is taken into account.

The purchasing department handles all non-hotel activities on specific days of the week. Our goal is to reduce CO2 emissions by using vehicles less and to prevent environmental damage. We also aim to source our suppliers from as close to our location as possible. This not only supports the local community but also reduces environmental harm. We maintain communication with our suppliers through regular supplier audits, procurement specifications, performance evaluations, meetings, and discussions.

SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

At Miramare Hotels, we have been working for many years to protect the environment and natural life, reduce waste at the source, decrease energy and water consumption, and ensure the continuity of environmental activities. We are aware that sustainability efforts will minimize their impact on environmental and cultural heritage. In today’s world, where global warming and climate change are becoming increasingly apparent, it is our fundamental goal to fulfill all our responsibilities properly. In this context;

  • Legal Regulations
    We commit to adhering to international legal regulations, environmental laws, and obligations.
  • Employees and Human Rights
    We provide equal service to all guests and employees, regardless of race, color, gender, religion, views, age, social and marital status, family origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation. We provide a safe working environment for all employees and suppliers, with special emphasis on women’s participation in management. We create a working environment that maintains a balance between work and family life. We ensure that all employees benefit equally from the social rights we offer. We conduct satisfaction surveys, evaluate them, and implement improvements. We create an environment where our colleagues can express their thoughts freely while protecting their personal data.
  • Environmental Awareness and Conservation
    We protect natural resources and use them efficiently. We try to prevent accidents that may cause pollution and harm the environment. We separate our waste at the source and ask guests and employees to support us. We regularly educate our staff on environmental practices and inform guests through in-room info TV channels. We measure our performance related to environmental practices, set goals, and track them. We organize environmental activities for our guests and employees and engage them in the process.
  • Supporting the Local Economy and Sustainable Purchasing
    We are aware of the impact our purchases have on the local economy, and therefore we procure most of our supplies from local producers and businesses. We consider the environmental and energy efficiency impact of all the products we procure.
  • Creating Opportunities
    We regularly support our employees through career and professional training. We aim to promote our own employees and achieve success together. We provide internship opportunities for tourism students to gain experience and support their accommodation.
  • Children's Rights
    Our fundamental goal is to ensure that our children, who are the future of our world, live in safe and healthy conditions. We create an environment where children in our facility feel secure and comfortable. We organize environmental activities with children, raise awareness, and celebrate their successes with small surprises and gifts at the end of the activities. In any case involving children that we perceive as negative or suspicious, we first inform senior management and then contact the Social Support Line (Alo 183) for help.

At Miramare Hotels, the adoption, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System, which is an integral part of our Quality Management Systems, is one of our primary goals.
